Antique shipping Plush Toy Bunny Rabbit

One-of-a-kind rabbit doll - dressed in his original shipping clothing including a green vest and brown bowtie on red body.

He measures about 14" (35.5 cm) tall head to toe; 16.5" (42 cm) to top of ears.

Face seems to be cotton - facial features (eyes, eyebrows, nose, cheeks, mouth, chin) are embossed and drawn in.

Stuffing in legs is hard-rolled paper (damaged foot allows us to see this).
Stuffing in rest of body appears to be white cotton/felt - maybe synthetic? (damaged right arm allows us to see this).

For its age, the felt fabric is generally in really good shape.
Please note:
- tattered and discolored right side of vest
- discoloration of left side portion of tie
- two holes on back of right arm
- large hole in bottom right foot

There are five small, round brass buttons on the vest - right one is badly tarnished on damaged felt as pictured.

Some dirt is evident on body - most notably back of right ear and dirty white face.... no attempt has been made to clean this.

Unsure of its age - likely early 20th century. High quality of stitching (see detailed picture of carrot) and embossed facial features leads us to believe it was professionally done - possibly made in a toy shop?

Also unsure of where this item was made but it was removed from an elderly woman's estate in the early 1990's. She immigrated here from the UK after the war with an extensive collection of beautiful English antiques......we can only assume that this, too, is made in England.

We believe this is a very unique and collectable early toy.
