A « Jaque » is a quilted or multi-layered garment designed to cushion shocks and keep metal protection in place during a fight. It can be worn alone (jaque) or associated with another defense (gambison, cotte to arm). Their realization requires a real technic to preserve the desired qualities which are: Solidity, flexibility, comfort, weight and maintenance.

The Cœur de Mithril´s Gambison has a classic cut and is generously padded. This makes it suitable for association with a chain mail or other metallic armor. Made of resistant cotton and trimmed with polyester, it has short sleeves and is slit in the back to hamper a minimum mobility of the wearer. With a collar up and down to the knees, it effectively protects against bruises in combat. The Gambison closes on the front with five sturdy leather straps with metal buckles.

The sleeves are wide enough at the top to not interfere with your movements and shrink at the elbow for a perfect fit, leaving room to comfortably carry the Cœur de Mithril´s padded armbands.

Thick enough to be used as individual armor, this robust defense coat is made of thick layers of padding and sewn into vertical lines. The seams keep the upholstery in place and imitate a classic European style from the High Middle Ages.
