Pump action shipping pen, "Steampump" style with green stylized Chinese dragon on a black background, my Item 103543

This handmade pen, a style called "Steampump" has a unique actuating mechanism. You'll notice that the clip is in the shape of the old stye water pump handles we see in old westerns. To actuate this pen one pulls outward on the clip as if trying to pump water in one of these old pumps and the pen cartridge pops out the writing end of the pen! Do it again to retract the cartridge. It's way cool. Alternately you can press downward on the top of the pump handle to the same effect. The top half of the pen is cast in intricate detail which includes a watch face design and other details. The body of this pen, my item # 103543, is clear acrylic resin over an image of a stylized Chinese dragon done in green on a black background. The pen uses standard Parker style (or equivalent) ballpoint shipping pen refills (ships with medium point, black ink. I recommend buying ink refills at www.woodcraft.com where a pack of five in either black or blue ink is ~$6.99 + shipping). The hardware has a combination of antique brass and antique pewter finishes. This is an eye-catching, hefty pen and is as much a conversation piece as it is a very nice writing implement. It's sure to delight fans of steampunk art and style and mechanical and engineering types who love mechanisms of various types. This is among the coolest pens you'll find.
