Shipping Woodturned Spalted Maple Bowl

Large hand turned, spalted maple bowl. 10.25" wide, 5.25" tall, 3.75" deep. Natural finish with friction polish. Made from a large maple tree that was blown down during a storm on the family farm. Would be perfect filled with fresh fruit on the dining table.
This tree was down for a couple of years before I harvested the wood which allowed for the black spalting lines you see caused by fungi as decay begins. There are shipping also pin-sized holes in the wood made by tiny insects during the decay process. The bowl has a unique story.
