Vintage Weller shipping Pottery, Ceramic Lidded Cooking Dish/Round Serving Cage with Handles

This lovely Weller Pottery Casserole Dish/Vintage Weller Utility-ware Crock is from the 1930's. This ceramic dish and lid have no cracks or chips. There is evidence of use on the interior of shipping this dish, but the 3 pieces are in excellent vintage condition. The lid sits well on the dish and has an air-release hole. The stainless cradle has welded handles and feet.
Weller Pottery is well known for its art pottery from the early 1870s to the late 1920's. Weller Pottery transitioned to commercial production and tile making focusing on more utilitarian items like beer mugs and utility-ware (and this sweet ceramic cooking dish) during the recession era in the 1930s. Weller Pottery closed completely in 1948. The Weller mark is on the underside of the dish.
