This is a 12" tall, rustic Mexican pottery jug that was crafted by the renowned Mexican artist, CAPELO, also known as Javier de Jesus Hernandez. Capelo, is a professor as well as an artist, who is now famous for his attempts shipping to recreate Spanish Majolica pottery that was earlier brought to Guanajuato, Mexico in the 16th century.

The Majolica pottery that was brought to Mexico in the 16th century and pottery that was later created had differences regionally, due to the clay that was used in Mexico. Thus, Capelo's creations from his art studio, CAPELO STUDIO, are unique and quite different from other pottery made throughout Mexico.

This is a lovely piece of art and this vase would look lovely, either inside or outside of any home; especially if filled with flowers.
