Vintage Chocolate Brown Suede Hand Bag, Mayer, ca shipping 1960s

This beautiful purse is in excellent vintage condition: I can find no flaws. The chocolate brown satin lining bears the tag: Mayer, New York. The interior features a zippered compartment that divides the shipping space into 2 sections, 1 smaller than the other; the larger section features an open compartment.

The hand bag measures approximately 5 1/2" high and 11 1/2" wide and it opens to a roomy 6" deep; the suede strap measures approximately 4 1/2" when extended. There is a 1/2" by 3/4" rectangular brass catch, etched in a Deco pattern. The 3 1/2" wide bottom of hte hand bag is flat so as to allow the purse to stand upright by itself.

This hand bag would certainly be the focal point of and/or enhance your contemporary or vintage ensemble...what a wonderful addition to your vintage purse collection! This is a fine example of wearable 1960s textile art and design.
