This is a fantastic, and very rare vintage wooden crate from Merck & Co., Inc. Manufacturing Chemists, Rathway, New Jersey. Merck & Co. was founded on January 1, 1891. George Merck, age 23, established the company to distribute fine chemicals throughout New York City and the neighboring areas. Markings appear on two sides and the lid opens for great storage space. There's some wear and tear but in overall good condition for its age shipping. It would make a great addition to a vintage kitchen, den or pantry to store some items. I tried to show the overall condition in my photos.
