Spring Crocus Blooms, Crocus Mixed Media shipping Painting

Crocuses always signal the first sign of spring in the Midwest. They break through the snow and cold to emerge these dainty, beautiful reminders that there's warmer weather ahead. "Here I am, in spite of it all!!!"

This piece is worked on top of collage and layers of acrylic paint. All of my mixed media favorites are in this one: stencils with heavy body acrylic (the pink touch in the crocus near the center bottom), china markers, Neocolor crayons, shipping painting and scribing with wood skewers.

SIZE: 14"x11"x.75" on wood panel. Sides are painted with a pop of blue, so it's ready to hang without a frame, if desired. Hanging wire on back.
