This is a real collectors item! It is a original mourning brooch from the Victorian era.
It is a stunning piece of historical jewellery and a true Victorian curios with real human hair neatly braided behind the glass. This particular piece has both blonde and darker brown hair braided together, which is unusual as it is normally one colour hair. Makes you wonder about the story behind it.
The brooch itself is black enamel with gold lettering on the front around the glass section which says "In memory Of", and likely to be gold plated or pinchbeck on the back. It is in remarkable condition and only has a small bit of enamel chipped by the letter M on the front. Please check photos. There are no obvious makers marks or hallmarks that I could see.
This would be a wonderful edition to any collection and a must have item for any Victorian curio fan!

Because they are old treasures, they will have some light wear as expected with pieces of age, history and stories to tell.
