Antique Armor Bronze Pair of shipping Scholars Bookends

This handsome pair of heavy-duty bookends is likely from the 20s and comes from Armor Bronze, master craftsmen of Massachusetts. The sculptures feature scholars sitting atop library ladders as they studiously read one of the many books from the shelves. Those they've finished with have been left here and there on the floor.

These bookends are quite old and have some wear in the paint, but the original color remains in most areas, including the gold of the bookshelves and ladder and the red and black shipping of the scholars' attire. I would have cleaned the dust more, but I didn't want to play with them too much. They look wonderfully aged as-is, which is wonderful.

These are bronze and quite heavy. That could easily hold up many books and could even work as doorstops. They have green felt on the bottom to protect your surfaces, as well as the original manufacturer's label.
