French Manufacture of Onnaing - Pair of large green, white and shipping golden earthenware dishes

Nice set of two large oblong raviers in old white earthenware, the edge decorated with molded scrolls, green and golden threads.

On the back are the printed stamp of the Onnaing factory, in the north of France

Documentation: "This factory, which was initially a new establishment of the Belgian factory in Nimy, was founded in 1821 by the brothers Ferdinand Louis de Bousies, Charles de Bousies, their cousin the Chevalier Adolphe de Bousies and the baron Frédéric de Sécus

From the end of the 19th century, the pottery of Onnaing developed in particular thanks to the arrival of the railway in the region.

The factory, occupied by the Germans during the First World War, suffered systematic destruction from which it would not recover. The restart of production in 1921 does not allow to return to the levels of shipping the beginning of the century. The factory was definitively liquidated in 1947 "
