Description

Product Name: Rebirth... A Few Years Later shipping #4 - Fine art panoramic landscape photograph of young maple trees in northern Maine - September 29, 2015

The Golden Road is a logging road that runs west out of Millinocket to the Quebec border. It passes through nearly 100 miles of Maine's forest without going through a single town. "Leaf peepers" need to be especially careful of the huge logging trucks that make their way out of the woods to the paper mill in East Millinocket. I have driven the Golden Road many times and first took pictures at this spot in 2010. "Swamp" maples such as these along the Golden Road near Baxter State Park are usually some of the first trees to change color in the fall. Foliage changes at different times from year to year... timing is everything. I luckily timed it just right to catch the maples at their peak this particular year.

I print my images using an Epson 3880 printer and Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta Ink Technology. The 9-color ink set includes 3 levels of black ink to produce rich blacks and vibrant colors that will last for decades. Each image is printed on Moab Somerset Museum Rag paper created by St. Cuthberts Mill in Wells, England. It is an archival, shipping fine art, 100% heavyweight cotton paper that makes a vibrant image come to life. Finally, all of my prints are sprayed with Moab's Desert Varnish for protection from scratching.

Prints may be purchased with or without matting and foam board backing.

I sign the back of each print and the front of the top matte. Each print is double-matted using acid-free matte board. The width of the border created by the matte boards varies depending on the size of the print but is generally about 2.5 inches. The approximate image size can be determined by subtracting 5 inches from both the width and height of the frame size you will need. For example, if you order a print for a 15 x 20 inch frame, the approximate size of the print will be 10 in x 15 in. Because the circumstances leading to my taking of the picture often lead to the image's name, I include a brief description of those circumstances on the back of the acid-free foam board to which the image is mounted. Your print will be one of only 250 copies of this image.
